The Comet assay (single cell gel electrophoresis assay) detects DNA single and double strand breaks, alkali-labile sites, incomplete excision repair sites and DNA cross-links in individual eukaryotic cells. In this review the application of the comet assay on tobacco and onion cells is described in detail.
Kometový test (gelová elektroforéza jednotlivých buněk) je molekulárně biologická metoda k detekci poškození DNA (jednořetězcové a dvouřetězcové zlomy DNA, překřízení řetězců DNA, alkalicky labilní a neopravena místa). Výhodou kometového testu je možnost získat údaje na úrovni jednotlivé buňky, což umožňuje získat informace o mezibuněčné distribuci poškození a nápravy DNA. V přehledu je podrobně popsána aplikace kometového testu u cibule a tabáku.
