The article examines the contribution of archaeology to our understanding of the history of Bohemia in the early Middle Ages (problem of beginning of christianity, relation between Bohemians and Magyars).

Článek se zabývá konfrontací a syntézou archeologických a torzovitých písemných pramenů pro 9. a 10. století v Čechách. Ukazuje pozitivní výsledky tohoto procesu na příkladě počátku křesťanství či vztahu Čechů a starých Maďarů v 1. pol. 10. století.
