This study shows a novel method evaluating rain rates (and not rain amount only) from the usual Tipping-bucket rain records. This method is based on the linearization of the rain amount - time response between two tips and the reading of the rain amount increment using a “moving window” of the length of the integration time (one minute) and with the step of the moving of one second in order not to omit higher rain rates. Examples and comparisons with other existing methods are added. After 83 rain events analysis it was proved that the novel technique is accurate and useful.

Tato studie prezentuje novou metodu vyhodnocující intenzity srážek (tedy nejenom úhrn srážek) z běžných člunkových srážkoměrů. Metoda je založena na linearizaci závislosti úhrn srážek-čas mezi dvěma překlopeními člunků a odečítání přírůstků úhrnu srážek pomocí “klouzavého” okna o délce odpovídající integračnímu času (zde jedna minuta), zatímco odečítání probíhá s krokem jedna vteřina (jinak by se mohly vynechat vysoké hodnoty intenzit srážek). Studie je doplněna příklady a srovnáními s jinými existujícími metodami. Po analýze 83 srážkových událostí bylo prokázáno, že tato nová metoda je přesná a užitečná.
