A characteristic initial-value problem is considered for linear functional-differential equation of hyperbolic type with discontinuous right hand side. A concept of Carathéodory solutions is used and, as a result, theorems on the Fredholm alternative and well-posedness of the problem atudied are established. Some existence results are given as well.

V článku je studována charakteristická počáteční úloha pro lineární funkcionálně-diferenciální rovnice hyperbolického typu s nespojitou pravou stranou. Jsou dokázány věty o tzv. Fredholmovosti uvažované úlohy a spojité závislosti Carathéodorovských řešení na počátečních podmínkách a parametrech. Je také prezentováno několik nových existenčních vět.
