Studie uvádí přehled postojů k vědě a výzkumu, jak se měnily v posledním století, od oslavy jejich síly a úspěchu až po obavy a varování. Trendy týkající se změn v hodnotové struktuře ve sféře vědy a výzkumu jsou obvykle vyjadřovány hesly jako "endless frontiers", "scientific revolutions", "limits", "constraints", "impacts", "risks" etc.

This study presents an overview of changing attitudes to science and research in the last century from celebration of their power and success, to apprehension and warning. The trends concerning changes of value-structure in the spheres of scienceand research are usually expressed by challenges or slogans such as "endless frontiers", "scientific revolutions", "limits", "constraints", "impacts", "risks" etc.
