Electroactivity of DNA and RNA was reported for the first time in 1958. During the first three decades a number of important findings were done, including introductions of covalently bound electroactive labels in DNA, DNA-modified electrodes, application of solid electrodes, etc. This is the basis for the development of the DNA sensors.
Elektroaktivita DNA a RNA byla poprvé popsána v roce 1958. Během prvních tří dekád byla učiněna celá řada důležitých nálezů, zahrnující úvod do kovalentně vázaných elektroaktivních značek do DNA, DNA modifikované elektrody, aplikace stacionárních elektrod apod. Tím byly dány základy pro konstrukci senzorů DNA.
