Modern computers allow for considering a transition from current prescriptive reliability assessment methods to full probabilistic concept, such a SBRA. This method was developed last two decades by an international team. The subject of the paper is a pilot demonstration of the application of the SBRA probabilistic approach to the safety assessment of a planar steel frame with speciál attention given to its stability. All input variables are expressed by nonparametric variables, the interactions of all variables is analyzed using the Monte Carlo technique.
