Příspěvek představuje výzkum národních stereotypů v příhraniční oblasti ČR a Rakouska.Předmětem zájmu bylo zachytit,jak Češi a Rakušané posuzují své osobnostní charakteristiky,osobnostní charakteristiky členů svého národa (autostereotyp) a národa sousedního (heterostereotyp).Metoda použitá k sebeposouzení a posouzení obsahu národních stereotypů vychází z pětifaktorového modelu osobnosti.Prvním z cílů výzkumu bylo porovnat obsahy jednotlivých typů posouzení – národního autostereotypu,národního heterostereotypu a sebeposouzení.Dalším cílem bylo porovnat českou a rakouskou část výzkumného souboru.Výsledky ukázaly,že se čeští a rakouští adolescenti v sebeposuzování výrazně neliší.Mezi sebeposouzením a autostereotypem byl prokázán negativní vztah v obou částech výzkumného souboru.Očekávaný negativní vztah mezi sebeposouzením a heterostereotypem byl statisticky průkazný pouze v české části souboru.Srovnání auto- a heterostereotypů ukázalo,že mezi rakouskými a českými respondenty neexistuje shoda v posuzování charakteristik typického Čecha/Češky a typického Rakušana/Rakušanky.

The study researched national stereotypes in a border region of the Czech Republic and Austria.We were interested in how Czechs and Austrians perceived their own personality characteristics,personality characteristics of their own nation members (autostereotype) and the neighboring nation members (heterostereotype).Method used for self-ratings and ratings of national stereotypes content is based on the five-factor personality model.The first goal of our study was to compare the content of national auto-,heterostereotypes,and self- ratings. Another goal was to compare the Czech and Austrian sample.The outcomes showed a convergence between the self-ratings of Czech and Austrian adolescents.However,the selfratings differed from the national autostereotype in both parts of the sample.The expected negative relationship between self-ratings and national heterostereotype was significant just in the Czech sample.The comparison between national auto- and heterostereotypes revealed divergent perceptions of a typical Czech and a typical Austrian within Czechs and Austrians.
