Samostatná kapitola v rámci souhrnné monografie o přemyslovské dynastii a českých zemích za její vlády sumarizuje současné poznatky o centrech nového typu, formujících se v průběhu 13. století: hradech, tvrzích a městech. Důraz je položen na roli institucionálních měst v dobovém společenském a ekonomickém vývoji.

A separate chapter within an overall monograph about the Přemyslids dynasty and Bohemian countries during their reign summarises the present knowledge about centres of a new sort growing during the 13th century: castles, fortresses and towns. The accent is put on the role of institutional towns in the social and economic development of the period.
