Mathematical models have always been an important tool by which to assess impacts of Allee effects for population and community dynamics. Actually, much of what we know about Allee effects comes from mathematical models. Up to now, Allee effects have been examined in the context of most existing model structures, and significantly altered our picture of population and community dynamics based on assuming negative density dependence only.

Matematické modely hrály vždy důležitou úlohu v posuzování důsledků Allee efektů pro dynamiku populací a společenstev. Ve skutečnosti většina toho, co dnes o Allee efektech víme, je založena na výsledcích matematických modelů. Dosud byly Allee efekty zkoumány v kontextu většiny existujících modelových struktur. Ukázalo se, že zahrnutí Allee efektů do těchto modelů výrazně modifikovalo naše představy o dynamice populací a společenstev, které byly založeny pouze na předpokladu negativní hustotní závislosti.
