Measurements of nitrogen dioxide, nitrous and nitric acids as well as ozone were made onboard the research vessel Aegeon in the Aegean Sea between 25th – 29th July 2000. The data also showed a number of short pollution episodes with rapid changes in the concentration of reactive nitrogen compounds and ozone. The measurements revealed the importance of nitrous and nitric acids for the transport of nitrogen to marine biota in busy ship lanes.

Ve dnech 25. -29. července 2000 probíhalo v ovzduší Středozemního moře (oblast Egejské moře) měření koncentrace oxidu dusičitého, kyseliny dusité, kyseliny dusičné a ozonu. Získaná data obsahovala krátkodobé, ale významné změny koncentrací reaktivních anorganických sloučenin dusíku a ozonu. Měření také ukázálo, že kyselina dusíčná i kyselina dusitá, které vznikají při sekunárních reakcích kouřové vlečky, by mohly významným způsobem ovlivňovat mořskou faunu a flóru.
