    AKH peptides (AKHs) that are predicted from the genome of Tribolium castaneum, and Bombyx mori, are shown to exist as expressed peptides in the corpora cardiaca (CC) by various mass spectrometric methods. Some related species were included in this study, such as the Tribolium brevicornis and Tenebrio molitor, as well Spodoptera frugiperda, Spodoptera littoralis, Mamestra brassicae and Lacanobia oleracea. The AKH peptide of T. brevicornis is identical to that of T. molitor but not to the ones of its close relative T. castaneum. Moreover, other peptides in T. brevicornis, such as various pyrokinins, also match the complement in T. molitor but differ from those in T. castaneum. The moths had the nonapeptide Manse-AKH. All other moths expressed the decapeptide Helze-HrTH. In M. brassicae and L. oleracea a novel amidated Gly-extended Manse-AKH was found. The noctuid moth species also all express the same corazonin, and a group-specific isoform of a gamma-PGN-(=gamma-SGNP) peptide.

    Adipokinetické hormony (AKH), které byly předpovězeny z genomu Tribolium castaneum a Bombyx mori byly pomocí hmotnostní spektrometrie prokázány jako exprimované peptidy v corpora cardiaca (CC). Struktury AKH peptidů byly zkoumány u některých příbuzných druhů, Tribolium brevicornis, Tenebrio molitor a dále Spodoptera frugiperda, Spodoptera littoralis, Mamestra brassicae a Lacanobia olerace. AKH peptidy u T. brevicornis jsou identické T. molitor, ale ne s T. castaneum. Jiné peptidy v T. brevicornis, jako pyrokininy se vyskytují komplementárně v T. molitor, ale jsou odlišné v T. castaneum. Všechny zkoumané můry obsahovaly nonapeptid Manse-AKH. Ostatní můry exprimují dekapeptid Helze-HrTH. V CC M. brassicae and L. oleracea byla nalezena nová varianta Manse-AKH peptidu s amidovaným Gly na C-konci. Některé můry exprimují tentýž peptid corazonin a jeho druhově specifickou isoformu gamma-PGN (=gamma-SGNP) peptid. V L. oleracea má druhý peptid novou sekvenci označenou jako Lacol-PK.
