Absorption, photoluminescence and Raman spectra of selected chalcogenide and TeO2 based HMO glass systems doped with Pr in various concentrations and by using several precursors are reported. Among the studied systems Ge25Ga10S65 and Ge25Ga5As5S65 seem to be the best matrixes for Pr.sup.3+.sup. inner shell luminescence at 1.3 ćm.
