Single crystals of triglycine sulphate (TGS) doped with Pr.sup.3+.sup., Sm.sup.3+.sup., Pd.sup.2+.sup., Co.sup.2+.sup., Pt.sup.4+.sup. and PO4.sup.3-.sup. with L-alanin were grown from agueous. Surface morphology, domain structure and P-E hysteresis loops have been investigated. The model of catalysed growth of /001/ and /101/ crystal pyramids on the basis of metal-glycine complexes has been suggested. We have found on the basis of experimental results that TGS single crystals doped with Pt.sup.4+.sup. and L-alanin are excellent materials for infrared detectors.
