This paper deals with modification of the sensivity and selectivity of siloxane gel layers coated on silica fibers to vapours of hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons. This modification is based on doping the layers with TiOTi chains and/or immobilizing in them Cu-ephedrine and Cu-phthalocyanine. The fibers were excited with inclined laser beams. Both negative and positive changes of the output optical power were observed which were caused by contact of the layers with the vapours.
