Garnet-bearing rocks with economic amounts of garnet have been verified by prospection in South Bohemia. The garnet-bearing rock has been found to be kinzigite. According to chemical composition the garnet belongs predominantly to Mg-rich almandine. Other minerals identified in kinzigite include K-feldspar, quartz, biotite, cordierite, plagioclase, sillimanite.
