    Inverse models help modelers to detect many aspects of groundwater flow systems that may be overlooked when using the manual trial-and-error method. In this paper, the Modin model is used to estimate aquifer parameters and to study the uniqueness and stability of the inverse problems. Alternative conceptual models have been compared using the Akaike Identification Criterion. The parameter zonation has been shown to be very important in the estimation process. The model was then applied to a real case: the Police cretaceous basin.
