Neurons recorded in the ventral nucleus of the medial geniculate body (MGB) of guinea pigs were characterized by short bursting and higher incidence of onset responses, whereas chopper type of responses and long bursting were present in neurons recordded in the medial and dorsal subnuclei of the MGB.
