Stem respiration was measured on Norway spuce trees grown in ambient (ca 350 ppm)and elevated(twice ambient, ca 700 ppm) atmospheric CO2 concentrations in glass domes located in the Beskydy Mts. Measurement were done in the beginning of August 2000 by gas exchange method using infrared gas analyser. Stem temperature was measured with a copper-constantan thermocouples insetedin the cambium layer of the stems. No statistical differences was found in stem woody-tissue respiration rate and in the total amount of stem woody-tissue respiration between ambient and elevated conditions.
