Článek se zabývá pokusy o řešení kvadratury kruhu v českém prostředí 17. století a sleduje jejich ohlasy v soudobém myšlení a průniky tématu kvadratury kruhu do českého barokního výtvarného umění, literatury a emblematiky, jmenovitě u zemského zeměměřiče Samuela Globice z Bučína a umělců a učenců jeho doby.

This article deals with attempts at the resolution of the quadrature of a circle in the context of the Czech Lands of the 17th century, and monitors the response to them in the contemporary thought, as well as the impact of the topic on Czech baroque art, literature and emblems namely as regards provincial geodesist Samuel Globic of Bučina and the artists and scientists of his period.
