    The influence of tensil stress on hysteresis loops and the magnetomechanical effect in high-magnetoresistive Fe-rich and low magnetoresistive Co-rich amorphous ribbons were investigated. The observed anhysteretic behavior can be well explained by the theoretical model by Livingston.
