Poslední objevy krátkodobých táborů, které jsou známy v barbariku na severním břehu řeky Dunaje dovolují najít nový pohled při studiu sloupu Marka Aurelia v Římě, kde jsou zobrazeny stejné objekty. Nový výklad je možný v případech vojenských architektur na římské i barbarské straně hranic. Překvapivý je velký počet pevností se zděnými zdmi na sloupu, přičemž ve skutečnosti na bitevních polích markomanských válek nalézáme především obvyklé krátkodobé tábory.

Recent discoveries of temporary camps, that are know in barbaricum in the northern bank of the middle stream of river Danube enable a new approach to the study of the column of Marc Aurel in Rome, where objects of the same kind are presented. New interpretation is possible in the cases of military architecture both in Roman and barbarian side of the frontier. A great number of fortresses with stone walls on the column is rather surprising, considering that in reality in the battle fields of marcomannic wars there are mainly usual temporary camps to be found.
