The relevance of biodiversity experiments for the consequences of species loss is reviewed. It is argued that, unlike in biodiversity experiments, the species loss in real world is highly non-random.

Relevance biodiverzitních experimentů pro reálný svět je hodnocena. Největším problémem je skutečnost, že v reálném světě jsou druhy, které mizí, velmi nenáhodným výběrem z existujících druhů.
