Skladba měkkýších a savčích faun v glaciálu svědčí o přírodním prostředí bezlesého charakteru s teplým létem ve srovnání se současnými podmínkami. Refugia klimaticky náročných druhů se nacházela mnohem blíže ke střední Evropě na jihovýchodě.

The composition of glacial molluscan and mammal faunas reflects open environments characterized by warm summers in contrast to the current reconstructions. Refugia of climatically demanding species were situated much closer to Central Europe in the south-east.
