Při současném studiu hlavních dynamických projevů Země, jako jsou zemětřesení a vulkanické erupce, usilují dnešní geologové, geofyzici a ostatní přírodovědci zcela přirozeně o to, seznámit se podrobně především s nejposlednějšími poznatky a výsledky výzkumu v těchto oborech a na nich pak dál stavět.

It is demonstrated on the examples of historical reports and images related to selected dynamic manifestations of the earth, such as strong earthquakes or volcanic eruptions. That written and pictorial historical records can be utilized as valuable sources of new geophysical data. An access to ample collection of historical images of strong earthquakes is given in the paper.
