Stať přináší vybrané teze o vymezení a chápání Národní fronty v poválečném Československu jako pokusu programově sjednotit ty politické a sociální síly, které profilovaly režim "lidové demokracie" v ČSR po roce 1945. Analyzuje možnosti programu Národní fronty jako možné nové státotvorné ideje v době, kdy mocenské ambice komunistů zastínily a pohřbily naděje na demokratickou obnovu země.

Article introduces some selected theses on limitation and meaning of the National Front in the post-war Czechoslovakia. The National Front idea was an attempt to unify the programmes of political and social forces, which profiled the Czechoslovak "people's democracy" regime after 1945. Included are the availabilities of the National front programme as an eventual state-forming idea during the period when the communist power ambitions had overshadowed and buried down all expectations for a democratic restoration of the country.
