The study clarifies the meaning of the concept of spirituality in the psychology of religion as revealed by its recent history in the field. The author substantiates Pargament´s solution according to which spirituality is the experiential core of religion. The use of the term spirituality in the common sense - something more general and independent from religion - is recommended in communication with people in other fields than psychology of religion.

Práce objasňuje význam pojmu spiritualita, jak se jeví ve světle jeho užití v psychologii náboženství. Autor uvádí argumenty pro Pargamentovo řešení, podle kterého spiritualita je experienciální jádro náboženství. Užití termínu spiritualita v obecném významu, jako něčeho obecnějšího a nezávislého na náboženství, lze doporučit v komunikaci s odborníky mimo psychologii náboženství.
