    Thiochrome binds to all muscarinic receptor subtypes but allosterically enhances affinity for acetylcholine only at M4 subtype in both binding and functional assays. These results demonstrate a new absolute form of subtype specificity which is derived from cooperativity rather than from affinity

    Thiochrom se váže na všechny podtypy muskarinových receptorů, ale alostericky zvyšuje afinitu pro acetylcholin jak ve vazebných, tak ve funkčních pokusech pouze u podtypu M4. Tyto výsledky ukazují nový absolutní druh specificity pro subtypy receptoru, která závisí na kooperativitě a ne na afinitě
