We study osteometrical characteristics of mandibles of wild boars (Sus strofa) in the Czech Republic, in Southern Bohemia (České Budějovice). We compare craniometrical characteristics of mandibles of female and male population in particular age groups. At the same time we compare osteometrical characteristics of Czech wild boar population with two other studies which were realised in Asian continent (Japan) and American continent (Chile). The values of craniometrical characteristics of Chile are quite high while Japan has the lowest values. Osteometrical characteristics of mandibles are impacted by both geographical and climatic factors. The research in Chile presents other significant factors that influenced and influence osteometrical characteristics – domestication and crossbreeding between wild pigs and domestic pigs.

Cílem naši práce bolo sledování osteometrickej charakteristiky Sus Scrofa v lokalite prímestskej honitby České Budějovice ve srovnání s osteometickou charakteristikou Sus scrofa v Čilé a Japonsku
