The total solar eclipse of August 11, 1999 offered a unique opportunity for the study of its geomagnetic effect - more specifically, of its effect on geomagnetic pulsations, as it swept through Europes many observatories, and additional temporary stations have also been established by Japanese, German and Hungarian groups.

Úplné zatmění Slunce 11. srpna 1999 nabídlo jedinečnou příležitost pro studium jeho geomagnetických účinků – přesněji vlivu na geomagnetické pulzace, protože procházelo přes mnoho evropských observatoří, navíc další dočasné stanice byly zřízeny skupinami badatelů z Japonska, Německa a Maďarska.
