The collapse of the Soviet political and economic system, started the transition from central planning to a market economy. I provide an overall assessment of the strategies and outcomes of the first decade and a half of the transition, outline the principal challenges faced by these economies and propose elements for a growth strategy.

Kolapsem sovětského politického a ekonomického systému začal přechod od centrálně plánované ekonomiky k tržní ekonomice. Ve studii poskytuji celkové zvážení strategií a výsledků prvních patnácti let transformace, hlavní výzvy, kterým tyto ekonomiky čelily a navrhuji prvky růstové strategie.
