Here we characterize a novel tandem repeat called TRAYC, which has accumulated on the Y chromosome in S. latifolia. Its presence demonstrates that degenerative processes of satellite accumulation are at work even in this early stage of sex chromosome evolution.
Práce popisuje novou tandemovou repetici nazvanou TRAYC, která se akumulovala na chromosomu Y u Silene latifolia. Její přítomnost demonstruje, že degenerativní procesy akumulace satelitů působí již v časných stadiích evoluce pohlavních chromosomů.
