Invertebrate fauna of treeholes in relation to some habitat conditions in southern Bohemia (Czech Republic.

Treehole aquatic metazoan communities were studied in beech forests in southern Bohemia during 1994. Basic characteristics of treeholes, such as type of treehole, volume, pH and conductivity of the contents were measured. Through this investigations 25 metazoan taxa belonging to Nematoda, Rotifera, Tardigrada, Oribatida, Crustacea and Insecta were found. In most cases the Diptera Aedes geniculatus Olivier, 1791 (Culicidae) and Metriocnemus martinii Thienemann, 1921 (Chironomidae), Nematoda and digonont Rotifera were dominant. The pH and conductivity varied over a wide range (from 3,8 to 9,0 and from 40 to 2160 µScm-1, respectively) among treeholes, but in most cases pH, conductivity and/or water volume varied only slightly during the season within each cavity.

Na pěti lokalitách v jižních Čechách byla studována společenstva vodních mnohobuněčných organismů v dendrotelmách. Během projektu bylo registrováno 25 taxonů mnohobuněčných živočichů náležejících mezi Nematoda, Rotifera, Tardigrada, Oribatida, Crustacea a Insecta. Byly sledovány základní charakteristiky dutin jako objem, pH, vodivost a typ dutiny. Dominantními organismy byly nejčastěji Aedes geniculatus Olivier, 1791 (Culicidae) a Metriocnemus martinii Thienemann, 1921 (Chironomidae), Nematoda a digonontní vířníci (Rotifera). Hodnoty pH a vodivosti se pohybovaly ve značném rozsahu hodnot (od 3.8 do 9.0 a od 40 do 2160 µScm-1) mezi dutinami, nicméně často jen v úzkém rozsahu v rámci jedné dutiny.
