We made a preliminary projection of the total bryophyte biomass and the amount of carbon stored in different vegetation types in global scale, which should call attention of the scientific community that enormous amout of carbon stored in bryophytes worlwide specially in tropical rain forest.

V rámci předloženého článku byl v globálním měřítku proveden odhad celkové biomasy bryofytů a množství uloženého uhlíku v různých vegetačních typech. Výsledky jsou důležité s ohledem na enormní množství uhlíku uloženého v biomase bryofytů, a to zejména v tropických deštných lesích.
