Autoři diskutují nad třemi konkrétními případy (Mark Twain, Marieke Lucas Rijneveld překládající Amandu Gormanovou, George Grosz) váhu rizika, které zákazy vedené ohledem na možné ponižování a urážení diskriminovaných skupin znamenají pro uměleckou tvorbu a jak tyto zákazy omezují nezastupitelné podněty, jež umělecká díla vnáší do veřejného prostoru. Ukazují, že přitom nelze principiálně stanovit hranici tolerance k potenciálně zraňujícím významům integrovaným do uměleckého díla, je pohyblivá a ustanovuje se v nekončící diskusi.

Using the three specific cases (Mark Twain, Marieke Lucas Rijineveld -- translator of Amanda Gorman, George Grosz), the authors discuss the balancing of risks involved in the bans lead by the regards for possible humiliation and offence of the discriminated group, what this means for the artistic work and how these bans limit the irreplaceable stimuli that the artworks bring to the public sphere. In doing so, they show that the limit of tolerance to the potentially hurtful meanings integrated into the artwork can not be established by a principle but is mobile and determined through unending discussion.
