V této kapitole je představen mezinárodní klimatický režim, zejména jeho vznik a prameny. Jsou zde analyzovány nejvýznamnější prameny mezinárodního klimatického práva, tj. Rámcová úmluva OSN o změně klimatu, Kjótský protokol a Pařížská dohoda, včetně historického kontextu jejich vzniku. Závěrem kapitoly je naznačen harmonogram provádění Pařížské dohody. Souhrnná tabulka představuje srovnání vybraných prvků nejvýznamnějších úmluv.

This chapter introduces the UN climate regime, in particular its origins and sources. It analyses the most important sources of the UN climate regime, i.e. the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol, and the Paris Agreement, including the historical context of their adoption. The chapter concludes by outlining a timetable for the implementation of the Paris Agreement. A summary table presents a comparison of selected elements of the most important conventions.
