Kolektivní monografie zkoumá badateli doposud opomíjený fenomén narušování legitimity parlamentních voleb ve střední Evropě od počátků parlamentarismu až po vypuknutí druhé světové války. Za uplatnění interdisciplinárního přístupu jsou v jednotlivých kapitolách představeny různé formy narušování volební integrity, ať už jde o podvody, korupci, nebo projevy volebního násilí. Opomenuta není ani problematika preventivních a represivních opatření přijímaných státy za účelem potírání nelegitimních praktik. Ty totiž ohrožují stabilitu politického systému a jsou v přímém rozporu s podstatou demokratického vládnutí.

The collective monograph looks into the so far rather neglected phenomenon of infringement in parliamentary elections legitimacy in Central Europe since the beginnings of parliamentarianism to the outbreak of World War II. Using the interdisciplinary approach, various forms of disruption of electoral integrity are presented in respective chapters, varying from electoral frauds, or corruption to sheer electoral violence. The issue of preventive or repressive measures taken by the state power in order to eliminate such practises is not omitted either since these threaten the stability of the political system and are in contradiction to the very essence of democratic governance.
