Příspěvek je zaměřen na historický vývoj právní úpravy noční práce. Zabývá se nejen samotnou noční prací a rozsahem pracovní doby, ale akcentuje i změnu v chápání institutu noční práce v průběhu času. Kromě právních otázek, na které nalézá odpovědi v dřívější a v soudobé právní úpravě, předestírá také otázky společenské, politicko-právní a do určité míry i morální.

The contribution has been focused on historical evolution of legal regulation of night work. Not only deals it with the sole night work and scope of working hours, but it also accents change in understanding the institute of night work during the time. Except from legal questions, to which it finds the answers in former as well as recent legal regulation, it further puts forward queries of a social, political-legal and to a certain extent of a moral character.
