Kniha vychází jako druhý svazek ediční řady Theatrum Neolatinum: Latinské divadlo v českých zemích. Obsahuje pět latinských her z první poloviny 18. století určených nejnižším třídám jezuitských gymnázií, tzv. gramatikálním třídám. Jádro knihy tvoří kritická edice těchto pěti rukopisů a zrcadlový překlad her do češtiny. Hry do této publikace byly vybrány tak, aby představovaly nejtypičtější námětové okruhy dochovaných dramat pro gramatikální třídy. Kniha dále obsahuje úvodní studie, životopisné medailony autorů her, seznam dochovaných celých textů her pro gramatikální třídy z českých zemí aj.

The book constitutes the second volume of the book series Theatrum Neolatinum: Latinské divadlo v českých zemích (Latin Theatre in the Bohemian Lands). It contains five Latin plays from the first half of the 18th century intended for the lower grades, i.e. grammar classes, in Jesuit colleges. The core of the book consists of five manuscripts with critical annotations and parallel translations in Czech. These plays were selected to represent typical thematic areas of the preserved plays for grammar classes. Among others, the book also includes introductory studies, profiles of the playwrights and a list of the preserved plays for grammar classes from the Bohemian province.
