Článek se zabývá otázkou svobody rozhodování v rámci Aristotelovy morální psychologie. Nejprve je představen celkový Aristotelův rozvrh duševních mohutností a v jejich rámci je poté změřena pozornost na fronésis a otázku, kolik prostoru Aristotelův praktický rozum ponechává svobodě jednajícího. Tuto otázku autor zodpovídá rekonstrukcí Aristotelovy analýzy rozhodovacích procesů, počínaje zvažováním, přes centrální rozhodnutí až k jeho skrytým hybným příčinám. V závěru je koncept, rekonstruovaný na základě textu Ethiky Níkomachovy, zasazen do širšího kontextu situace lidského jednání, to vše v konfrontaci s McIntyrovou exklusivistickou výkladovou tendencí.

The article deals with the topic of free decision in Aristotle's moral psychology. First, Aristotle's conception of psychological powers as a whole is outlined followed by a more detailed examination of his understanding of phronesis. Scrutinized is also the question to what extent the freedom of action is allowed for by Aristotle's practical reason. In order to answer this question Aristotle's analyses of decision making (including considering, the central decision as well as its hidden moving reasons) is reconstructed. In conclusion, the concept reconstructed in terms of Nicomachean Ethics is incorporated in a wider context of human action – all that in opposition to McIntyre's exclusivist interpretation.
