V tomto článku populární formou diskutujeme Einsteinovu obecnou teorii relativity (OTR). Vysvětlujeme si např. pojem křivosti prostoročasu a jeho souvislost s gravitačním polem. Vysvětlujeme si též základní principy OTR a odvozujeme některé důsledky této teorie, jako např. ohyb světla v gravitačním poli a stáčení perihelia planety Merkur.

In this article, we discuss Einstein's theory of gravity. We explain the basic principles of this theory. We also introduce the notion of curvature of a spacetime and its connection to the gravitational field. Some implications of the theory, such as bending of the ligth in a gravitational field or the perihelion precession of Mercury are also derived.
