The apparent solubility controls the initial stage of supercritical fluid extraction of natural products, which is most important for the process economics. Using literature data on apparent solubility in CO2 of substances extracted from different matrices as leaves, flowers, rhizomes and seeds, the paper shows that the adsorption isotherm proposed by Perrut et al. for oil extracted from seeds and modified by del Valle and Uriega is valid for all these extracts.
