Studie se věnuje postavení předního českého historika Jaroslava Golla v kultuře přelomu 19. a 20. století. Tematizuje vztah, který k němu v různých situacích zaujímali představitelé literární generace 90. let 19. století (tzv. literární moderny) jako k historikovi, básníkovi a také jako k překladateli jednoho z kanonických textů literární moderny, Květů zla Charlese Baudelaira.

The study focuses on the position of the Czech historian Jaroslav Goll in the culture at the turn of the 20th century. It explores the relation between the young literary generation and Jaroslav Goll as historian, poet, and the translator of the Baudelaire´s Fleurs du Mal, one of the text canonised by the literary generation of modernicism.
