    A novel hydride atomizer design based on atmospheric pressure glow discharge (APGD) was constructed for hydride generation optical emission spectrometry (HG-OES). Atomization and excitation conditions for Ge determination by HG-APGD-OES were optimized reaching a detection limit of 0.4 ng/ml Ge.
