První vlna rušení klášterů zahájená v lednu 1782 se dotkla zejména ženských klášterů, mezi nimiž byl i klášter premonstrátek v Chotěšově zrušený 22. března 1782. Zrušení kláštera znamenalo i zánik jeho knihovny, které se věnuje tento příspěvek, jehož cílem je zachycení stavu knihovny v okamžiku zrušení kláštera a sledování úředních postupů a způsobu, jakým přistoupila komise pod vedením Kazimíra Wiederspergra z Wiederspergu k inventarizaci klášterní knihovny i knih uložených v jednotlivých celách. Všímá si i přístupu K. R. Ungara ke knihám ze zrušených klášterů soustředěným v pražské univerzitní knihovně v Praze a na základě dochovaných archivních pramenů a doposud málo využitých soupisů uložených v Archivu Národní knihovny, se pokouší utvořit si přesnější představu o velikosti a obsahové skladbě chotěšovského fondu.

The first wave of monastery closures, which began in January 1782, affected mainly women’s monasteries, including the Premonstratensian monastery in Chotěšov, which was closed on 22 March 1782. The dissolution of the monastery also meant the disappearance of its library, which is the subject of this paper, which aims to record the state of the library at the time of the dissolution of the monastery and to trace the administrative procedures and the way in which the commission led by Casimir Wiedersperg of Wiedersperg proceeded to take stock of the monastery library and the books stored in the individual cells. It also notes K. R. Ungar’s approach to the books from the dissolved monasteries concentrated in the University Library in Prague and, on the basis of the surviving archival sources and the hitherto little-used inventories stored in the Archives of the National Library in Prague, attempts to form a more accurate idea of the size and content of the Chotěšov collection.
