The study deals with the translation of the fourth petition of the Lord's Prayer (Give us our daily bread) in Czech, from the earliest written records from the 14th century to the most recent translations of the 21st century. In doing so, it traces the different translation choices of the Latin terms (panem nostrum) „quotidianum“ and „supersubstantialem“ that appear in the Matthew and Luke Gospels.
