Jedním z úkolů řádu premonstrátů byla podpora vědy a vzdělávání, což se odráželo i v přístupu řádu k písemné kultuře. Na rozdíl od jiných řádů nebyla jejich písemnostem doposud věnována v českém prostředí soustavná badatelská pozornost. Jednotlivé příspěvky, které na workshopu zazněly, se proto zaměřily na písemné prameny týkající se řádu, a to jak písemnosti diplomatické povahy, tak rukopisy a dějiny premonstrátských knihoven.

One of the tasks of the Premonstratensian Order was the promotion of science and education, which was also reflected in the Order's approach to written culture. In contrast to other orders, their writings have not yet received consistent research attention in the Czech environment. Therefore, the individual contributions presented at the workshop focused on written sources related to the Order, both diplomatic documents and manuscripts, as well as the history of Premonstratensian libraries.
