The volume of sediment collected from archaeological features and contexts has, by its very nature, a specific (fluctuating) effect on the number of macro-remains obtained. This conclusion is based on the assumption that the analysed dataset from the Jevišovka site comes from several collected samples of different volumes, at least some containing carbonised macro-remains (a more or less common result of non-systematic sampling). Above all, these results are important regarding the interpretation of the archaeobotanical assemblage and its inclusion in the archaeological interpretation. It is necessary to consider the representativeness of plant species from Jevišovka, and the resulting plant production, subsequently reflected in the economic-ecological background of the site, is primarily conditioned by the sampling method.
