Deeper lipidomic analysis in EAT uncovered potential higher oxidation of polyunsaturated lipids in cachexia. Analysis of significantly regulated phosphatidyl ethanolmanines revealed higher content of arachidonic acid at sn2 position. Changes in iron and lipid metabolism in both EAT and MYO can be key markers of cardiac cachexia, they are more pronounced in EAT, and suggest the role of EAT-MYO microenvironment in the development of HF.
