Impaired adrenergic NST in BAT of A/J mice could be compensatedby NST in skeletal muscle. Our findings indicate that muscle NST is inducible bycold and suggest that it may provide not only protection from cold, but also obesityresistance, more effectively than BAT. Heart may play an important strain-specificrole in regulation of muscular NST.
